Auditions are held by Chorus Abilene’s artistic staff to assess musical skills in a relaxed and interactive few minutes. Youth & Chorale auditioners should be prepared to sing “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” and will be asked to participate in simple exercises and even "sing-a-longs" to identify skill level. Children's Chorus auditioners should be ready to sing "Happy Birthday". Adults should contact the office staff for specific audition requirements.
Auditions are scheduled in May and August annually, though individual auditions may be scheduled throughout the season to accommodate for special circumstances. All choirs are open to new registration through audition.
Administrative staff are always available to answer questions about rehearsal schedule, tuition, financial assistance, and international touring opportunities. The Youth Handbook may also provide necessary information for parents.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Chorus Abilene believes in giving students from all backgrounds an equal opportunity to participate in our program. Scholarships are awarded on a “first-come, first served” basis to those families who meet the financial needs criteria and must be reapplied for annually. All financial assistance information is confidential. Scholarship funding is limited. Contact the CA Office to request a Financial Aid Application and to receive further instruction.
